Writ on phone conversation leaking and eavesdropping dismissed
The High Court has rejected the writ petition seeking an inquiry into the incidents of leaking phone conversations and eavesdropping. The High Court bench of Justice M. Inayetur Rahim and Justice Mostafizur Rahman passed the order on Wednesday (September 29).
Earlier, lawyer Mohammad Shishir Monir had filed the writ petition on August 10 on behalf of 10 lawyers of the Supreme Court.
The defendants were the Secretary of Posts and Telecommunications, the Secretary of Information and Communication Technology, the Secretary of Telecommunications and Information Technology, and the Chairman of the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission.
A legal notice was issued to the concerned in this connection on June 22. The writ was filed as no reply was received.
